CAD Engine Comparisons
With the release of VidCAD SQL 4.0, VidCAD users have new options for the CAD engine they will use to run VidCAD. We recognize this as an important decision for all of our users, and want to make sure you have the most complete information available in order to make the best decision for moving forward with your VidCAD system.
As all of our current AutoCAD OEM engine users know, not every AutoCAD command is available in the OEM version available to VidCAD Users. The most notable commands unavailable over the years have been 3D Solids, Custom AutoLisp routines and Express tools.
VidCAD OEM 2012 will also have restrictions, but due to Autodesk policies the restrictions have actually increased. Some of the general commands you are accustomed to using in previous VidCAD OEM programs may no longer be available.

Upcoming VidCAD Versions
VidCAD will release several major updates between now and the end of 2012 that have significant new features. Although most of the changes you will see are Equipment related, there will also be some changes to the VidCAD Main Menu, cables, and reporting functions.
We have had many requests of late to make our development process more available to users so that they know where our product is headed. The lists below describe planned changes for the 4.X series of updates and their expected release dates.

Webinar Delayed until February 9, 2011
Note: Southern New Mexico is still getting hit pretty hard by a severe winter storm. There is more snow forecast for tomorrow in the area where the VidCAD office is located, and there are intermittent power outages due to the severity of the storm. For this reason, we will be postponing the next webinar until Wednesday, February 9, 2011.
