Scroll Bars

Have you ever tried to use VidCAD with just the mouse pad on your laptop? The one thing that is hardest to do without a regular mouse is to Pan your drawing. If you frequently find yourself in this situation you may want to consider turning on the AutoCAD Scroll bars, which allows you to pan the drawing up and down and right or left. To turn on the AutoCAD scroll bars select “Options” from the Tools pull down menu. Then select the Display scroll bars in drawing window option, and select “OK.”

AutoCAD Training for VidCAD Users

Posted on August 16, 2010

When speaking to our users we often get asked about AutoCAD training.  Do I need AutoCAD Training?  How much do I need?  When should I take it, before or after VidCAD Training?

At VidCAD we pride ourselves on automating many AutoCAD functions, enough so that non-AutoCAD users can learn VidCAD without ever learning the majority of AutoCAD commands and functions.  However, that does not mean improving AutoCAD skills will not make you a better, faster VidCAD user.

Large Toolbars

For our users with older eyes, or new users trying to find their way around the dozens of VidCAD commands (or hundreds of AutoCAD commands) in toolbars there is a setting in AutoCAD to make the icons on toolbars a little easier to view. From the Tools pull down menu select “Options.” In the options window check the “Use large buttons for Toolbars” option then select “OK.”
